Student answer (Band 6.5)
The charts illustrate the total number of loans given to each member of little chalfont library from the year 2007 to 2016
Overall, it is seen that in the first bar chart for the year 2016, adults 18-64 years are 51 in number and children below the age of 13 are 22 in numerical strength, also adults 65 and over are 12 while young adults 13-17 are 15. In the second table, we observed that total loans categorically meant for children's fiction in the year 2016 is 38% which is glaringly higher than the children's non-fiction with just 6%, also children's DVDs had 1% of the share and young adults had 2%. Additionally, adult fiction had 38% whereas adult non-fiction had 13% which is extremely lower than the former, then comes the adult audio books with just 2%.
Furthermore, analyzing the third bar graph which has total number of loans from [redacted phone], it is discovered that in the first year 2007, the loan dispensed was 16000 which went a bit higher in 2008 with 18000, and in 2009 it stabilized with a slight increase in 2010 where it went up to 21000 with a little addition in 2011 to 22000 which later dropped below 21000 by 2012. Also in 2013, the amount dropped further to 19000 with a minimal increment in 2014 to 21000 and from that period, it has recorded continuous increase to 22000 and 23000 in 2015 and 2016 respectively.
From the analysis, the total loans by category and number of loans from [redacted phone] are not stable and can be said to have random ups and downs whereas in the bar chat which has the ages of library members can be said to have more like 50% of the chart with adults of age 18-64.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have successfully identified the main features of all three charts. However, the response is overly descriptive and relies too heavily on listing raw data (e.g., '51 in number', '16000 which went a bit higher in 2008 with 18000'). To reach a higher band, you should focus on grouping data to highlight trends and significant comparisons rather than reporting every individual figure. The overview is present but could be more analytical; instead of just stating the data is 'not stable', you should highlight the overall upward trend from 2007 to 2016 and the dominance of adult fiction and adult members.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The response is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a different chart. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'Additionally', and 'Overall', which helps the flow. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. The final paragraph serves as a summary, but it repeats information already mentioned rather than synthesizing the data effectively. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Phrases like 'numerical strength', 'glaringly higher', and 'minimal increment' show an attempt to use more sophisticated language. However, there are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'total loans categorically meant for' and 'extremely lower than the former'. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary related to data trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'accounted for', or 'constituted'. Spelling is generally accurate, but ensure proper nouns like 'Little Chalfont' are capitalized consistently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'the loan dispensed was 16000' (should be 'the number of loans'), and run-on sentences where clauses are joined by commas rather than appropriate conjunctions or punctuation. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage. To improve, focus on using more varied complex structures, such as relative clauses or passive voice, and pay closer attention to punctuation to avoid comma splices.
