Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the three charts provided. You successfully identified the main features, such as the age distribution of members and the loan categories. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For instance, you mention the total number of loans in 2016 but do not effectively compare the trends over the 2007–2016 period shown in the bar chart. Furthermore, the connection between the age groups and the loan categories could be more explicitly linked to provide a more cohesive summary. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points mentioned are accurate and that you provide a more analytical comparison rather than just listing figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'Whereas' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly forced. The overview is placed appropriately, but it could be more clearly separated from the introduction to improve the structure. Referencing is generally clear, but ensure that your use of 'whereas' is grammatically sound, as it is currently used as a sentence starter in a way that creates fragments in some instances.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'partition,' 'depicts,' and 'intake.' However, there are several spelling and word-choice errors that detract from the quality, such as 'quater' (quarter), 'jonra' (genre), and 'approximatey' (approximately). These errors are noticeable but do not fully impede communication. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure you proofread for common spelling mistakes. Using more varied collocations, such as 'accounted for' instead of 'comprising,' would also elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('The pie charts illustrates') and incorrect sentence fragments ('comprising, the lowest and highest percentage as members in the library'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors rarely impede the reader's understanding of the data, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically complete and that subject-verb agreement is consistent throughout.
