Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the pie chart and the line graph. You have successfully identified the main features, such as the age distribution and the loan trends over time. However, the analysis could be more precise. For example, you mention 'the rest others are moderate' without defining what that means, and the description of the loan trends in the middle years is slightly confusing. To reach a higher band, ensure that comparisons are more explicit, such as contrasting the dominant categories with the least popular ones more clearly, and ensure all data points mentioned are accurate according to the provided charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'Overall', 'Following this', and 'According to graph'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas is weak, such as the transition between the age group data and the loan categories. Paragraphing is present but could be more effectively used to separate the distinct data sets (pie chart vs. line graph) more clearly. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main points, such as 'fluctuated', 'gradually rising', and 'approximately'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'the rest others are moderate' and 'reached the same position'. Additionally, there are minor issues with capitalization (e.g., 'little chalfont') and repetitive phrasing. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to data trends, such as 'peaked', 'remained stable', or 'accounted for', and ensure consistent attention to proper nouns and standard English spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'The information on the pie chart and on graph gives' (missing articles), 'The library has four age group' (pluralization error), and 'the loans were increased gradually rose' (incorrect verb tense/structure). While these errors are noticeable, they do not generally impede communication. To achieve a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that verb tenses are consistent when describing past trends.
