The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The charts illustrate information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont. Overall, more than 50% library members were adults. However, highest category of loans was for children's fiction books and lowest category was for children's DVDs. The lowest number of loans were in 2007 and the highest in 2016.
To begin with in 2007, there were only 16000 loans. However, in 2008 and 2009 number of loans were increased. In both years number of loans were approximately same around 19000. From 2010 to 2012 number of loans were stable around more than 20000 but in 2013 it decrease gradually and came to 19500. From 2014 to 2016 it rose in 2016 there were 23000 loans.
In 2016, more than 50% library members were adults around 22% were children and 15% were young adults from age 13-17. Moreover, their were only 12% adults 65 and over. In 2016, highest category of loan was taken for children's fiction and adult fiction books were same around 38% and 13% adult non-fiction books and lowest category was children's DVDs.
