Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the charts, including the age distribution, loan categories, and the trend over time. You provided relevant data to support your points. However, the response lacks a clear overview or summary paragraph that synthesizes the key trends. While you have reported the data accurately, the comparison between categories could be more explicit. For instance, noting that fiction was significantly more popular than other genres would strengthen the analysis. Ensure that you always include a clear 'overview' sentence or paragraph that highlights the most significant trends or differences observed across the charts to meet the requirements for a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In contrast to this' and 'Similarly' to link ideas. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical, and some transitions could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate for a report of this nature. To improve, ensure that the progression of ideas within paragraphs is more fluid and that referencing (e.g., 'this number') is always clear and unambiguous. Overall, the structure is coherent and the information is presented in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the data, such as 'majority', 'account for', 'peaked', and 'declined'. There are some spelling errors, such as 'ane' instead of 'and', 'dads' instead of 'data', 'lsast' instead of 'least', and 'thr' instead of 'the'. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the intended meaning. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise vocabulary and ensure careful proofreading to eliminate simple spelling mistakes, which can detract from the professional tone of your report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While many sentences are clear, there are several grammatical and punctuation errors, such as 'are adults ages' (should be 'are adults aged'), 'berween the yeaes' (spelling/typo), and 'jt peaked' (typo). Additionally, there are some issues with subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, such as using 'are' when describing 2016 data in the past tense. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focusing on consistent tense usage and proofreading for minor slips will help improve your accuracy.
