Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of both charts, but the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you correctly identify the categories in the pie chart and the trend in the bar graph, the description lacks precision. For example, you mention 'seven types of category' when the data clearly shows four, and the description of the bar graph trends is vague, failing to highlight specific data points like the peak in 2011 or the final figure in 2016. To improve, ensure you accurately transcribe data and provide specific comparisons between the categories rather than just listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression is hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical use of cohesive devices. Phrases like 'To starts with' and 'Moreover' are used repetitively and sometimes incorrectly. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the transition between the pie chart and the bar graph. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that flows naturally into the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'info', 'take', and 'gain'. There are also issues with word choice and terminology, such as 'staeks' (likely a misspelling of 'shares' or 'statistics') and 'loan holders' instead of 'total loans'. To improve, incorporate more academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuated', 'accounted for', and 'remained stable'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the chart show'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces before commas and run-on sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms.
