IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The charts provide information about Little Chalfont Library. They compare the age of library members, the category loans in 2016, and the total number of loans from 2007 to 2016
Overall, adults aged 18-64 made up the largest group of members, while people aged 65 and over accounted for the smallest proportion. In addition , the total number of loans generally increased during this period.
Adults group 18-16 was came to library in 2016 51%, followed by childrean's at 22%. young adults 13-17 was came library 15%, whereas adults age 65 and over accounted for 12%. In term of loans , adult and children's fiction were equally at 38%each, while children's DVD's accounted for only 1%.
The total number of loans stood at approximaetly 15,500 in 2007. It rose steadily to just over 20,000 by 2011 before dropped slightly in 2013. After that the figure recovered and a peak of it's arround 21000 in 2016
