The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The charts illustrate a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Overall, adults aged 18-64 years accounted for the largest proportion while adults with 65 yeas and above represented the smallest share. Both the children's fiction adult fiction were allocated a higher proportion of loans than other categories additionally, the total number of loans showed an upward trend across the period given.

From the bar chart, adults aged 18-64 years accounted for 51% which was the highest percentage while the children had 22%. In comparison, adults aged 65 years and above represented 12% which was the lowest while young adults in (13-17) age bracket had 15%.

According to the total loans between 2007 to 2016, 2007 had around 16000 figures which was the lowest. Although the figures continued to increase throughout the remaining years to nearly 21000 in 2012, it also recorded a low of around 19000 in 2013. Eventually, the numbers continued to increase reaching slightly above 22000 in 2016. As per the total loans by category in 2016, children's fiction and adult fiction recorded 38% while children's DVDs and adult audio books had the lowest proportions of each 1% and 2% respectively.
