The bar chart illustrates the public library in a city named Little Chalfont.

By comparing the given data, it can be observed that the loan taken in early in 2007 is 15,000. After 3 years the loans rate become higher it reaches 20,000 and after some years in 2013 the ratio of loans rate become lower it reaches to below then 15,000 and in last section of the year 2016 the number of loans rate become more then 20,000.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. While you identify some trends, the analysis is superficial and lacks a clear overview of the data. You have not effectively compared the two charts or synthesized the information. The description of the bar chart is fragmented, and the data points are sometimes inaccurate or poorly explained (e.g., 'below then 15,000'). To improve, ensure you provide a clear summary of the main trends and include all necessary data points without listing them in a repetitive manner. The response is also missing a concluding summary of the key features.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is disjointed. The transition between the two charts is abrupt, and the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and limited (e.g., 'First we will talk about', 'If we talk about'). Referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logic of your comparisons. To improve, use a wider range of linking words such as 'in contrast,' 'furthermore,' or 'consequently' to connect your sentences and paragraphs more fluidly. Ensure each paragraph has a clear focus and that your ideas flow logically from one to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple terms like 'ratio,' 'number,' and 'rate.' There are issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the loan taken in early in 2007' and 'large member of group age.' The range is insufficient to convey the information with precision. To improve, incorporate more academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated,' 'peaked,' 'accounted for,' or 'proportion.' Avoid using the same words repeatedly and focus on using precise terminology to describe trends and categories.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the loans rate become higher it reaches 20,000' (run-on sentence/tense error) and 'the total highest loans taken by children's 38%' (missing verb/incorrect possessive). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the control over basic grammar is inconsistent. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage for past data, and punctuation. Practice combining simple sentences into complex ones using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions to demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control.
