Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the charts, such as the age distribution and the trend in loan numbers. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial and lacks a clear, logical structure. While you identified the highest loan numbers, the comparison between the different categories is often unclear or confusing, such as the mention of '1% for DVDs' which is not clearly linked to the overall data. To improve, ensure that you group information logically and provide a more precise summary of the trends rather than listing isolated figures. The overview is present but lacks clarity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Meanwhile, in begin like 2007'. Some sentences are disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of information. Referencing is also inconsistent, which hinders the overall coherence. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'in contrast', 'consequently') to connect your sentences and paragraphs more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'numbers of loan' and 'members'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'this library running by' instead of 'the library is run by' and 'differently change' instead of 'fluctuated'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuation', 'peak', and 'demographic'. Avoid informal phrasing and focus on using words that accurately describe the trends shown in the charts.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('this library running by'), article usage ('the' is often missing), and sentence structure (e.g., 'adults those age is over to 65'). Complex sentence structures are attempted but are often faulty, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and practicing the use of articles and prepositions. Proofreading for basic errors like 'their' vs 'there' would also be beneficial.
