Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5
The response attempts to address the task but fails to provide a clear overview or a coherent summary of the main features. While you mention the age groups and loan categories, the data is presented in a fragmented way without meaningful comparisons. Crucially, the final paragraph is incomplete, leaving the description of the loan trends unfinished. To improve, ensure you identify the most significant trends (e.g., the dominance of adult members or the peak in loans) and present them in a structured manner. Avoid simply listing figures; instead, group them to highlight the relationships between the data points provided in the charts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the introduction, the description of members, and the loan categories is abrupt. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas, and the referencing is often unclear (e.g., 'this ratio are above to'). The final paragraph ends mid-sentence, which significantly disrupts the flow and coherence of the report. To improve, use linking words such as 'furthermore', 'in contrast', or 'consequently' to connect your sentences and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, completed focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'number of', 'graph', and 'members'. There are also several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'chifren' instead of 'children' and 'feastures' instead of 'features'. The phrasing is often unnatural, which hinders the clarity of your report. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'account for', 'fluctuate', or 'the majority of'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you describe the charts more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'this graph shows... and how many loans are given', 'the number of chifren are 22'). Sentence structures are mostly simple, and there are errors in punctuation and word order. The incomplete sentence at the end of the response also negatively impacts the overall grammatical control. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and ensuring that your subjects and verbs agree. Proofreading for common errors like pluralization and tense consistency will also help improve your accuracy.
