Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the charts, but the analysis is inconsistent. While you identify key data points, there is confusion in the interpretation of the categories. For instance, you conflate 'members' with 'loans' and misinterpret the age demographics. The overview is present but lacks clarity, as it does not effectively synthesize the trends. To improve, ensure you clearly distinguish between the different charts and accurately label the data categories (e.g., age groups vs. loan categories). The report would benefit from a more precise selection of data to highlight the most significant comparisons rather than listing individual percentages.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'at least position' are used incorrectly to mean 'lowest position,' and the transition between the pie chart and the bar graph is somewhat abrupt. While there is an attempt to use linking words such as 'Firstly,' 'Secondly,' and 'On the other hand,' the logical flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and unclear referencing. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help create a smoother, more professional progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'participated in library' instead of 'used the library' and 'took place in loans' instead of 'borrowed items.' The phrase 'at least position' is used repeatedly to mean 'lowest,' which is a significant lexical inaccuracy. While you demonstrate a basic range of terms related to the charts, you need to focus on collocations and more sophisticated vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'accounted for,' 'fluctuated,' or 'reached a peak.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'chart and bar graph illustrates'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'expect metioned years'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and spacing. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the quality of your writing.
