Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers all parts of the task by identifying key features from the charts. However, the presentation of data is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear, analytical overview. While you mention the 2016 figures, the summary could be more effectively integrated to highlight the most significant trends, such as the dominance of adult visitors and the popularity of fiction loans. Some data points are presented as a list rather than a comparative summary, which limits the depth of the analysis. To improve, focus on grouping related information more logically and ensuring that comparisons are made between categories rather than just stating individual percentages.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat repetitive and occasionally mechanical (e.g., 'Moreover', 'In addition to that', 'After that'). The progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the final paragraph where the description of the line graph becomes a list of years and figures rather than a cohesive narrative of the trend. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences flow more naturally into one another would enhance the overall coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing for clear communication of the data. You use some topic-specific terms like 'non-fiction' and 'audio books'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'people from different category taking loans' and 'it slightly fall down'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise verbs to describe trends (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'remained stable') and avoid repetitive structures. Expanding your repertoire of academic collocations will help you achieve greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You make several grammatical errors, such as 'adults (18-64) visited more about 51%' (missing a preposition or comparative structure) and 'it show a decrease' (subject-verb agreement). Additionally, there are issues with tense consistency and punctuation, such as '1n 2012' (typo) and 'through ou the era'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage for past data will significantly improve your accuracy.
