Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response effectively covers all three visual elements provided. You have successfully identified the main features, such as the dominance of the adult age group and the popularity of fiction categories. The comparison of loan trends over time is also clear. To reach a higher band, ensure that the 'overview' paragraph is more distinct and analytical. While you mention the upward trend, you could further highlight the contrast between the stable popularity of fiction and the minor categories. Overall, the information is well-selected and reported accurately, meeting the requirements of the task well.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs dedicated to each chart. The progression of ideas is smooth, and you use cohesive devices such as 'On the other hand,' 'In terms of,' and 'while' effectively to link information. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different data sets. The referencing is generally clear, though some transitions could be slightly more sophisticated to improve the flow between sentences. Overall, the structure is coherent and easy to follow throughout the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey information with precision, such as 'proportion,' 'accounted for,' and 'upward trend.' There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the adults group is the largest users' (should be 'the largest user group') and 'shares 6%' (should be 'share 6%'). While you attempt to use varied terminology, some phrasing is slightly repetitive. Expanding your range of synonyms for describing data trends and proportions would help elevate the lexical score to a higher level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are some grammatical slips, such as 'the proportion of ages of a public library members' (should be 'the age distribution of public library members') and 'children's fiction and adult fiction are mostly borrowed books' (should be 'are the most borrowed books'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article errors throughout. However, these errors do not impede communication, and the majority of your sentences are clear and understandable. Increasing the variety of complex structures would further improve your score.
