The provided graphs namely pie chart, tabular chart and bar graph illustrate the proportion of age group members in the library in 2016, total loans accounted by those categories in particular year 2016 and total number of loans issued by the public in the time frame of 2007 to 2016 in a village which is Little Chalfont respectively.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of all three charts. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with relevant data from the pie chart, table, and bar graph. However, the analysis could be improved by making more direct comparisons between the categories. For instance, when discussing the table, you could have explicitly contrasted the high popularity of fiction with the low usage of DVDs. Additionally, some of your data reporting is slightly imprecise, such as referring to 'almost over half' (51%), which is a contradiction. Overall, you have covered the requirements of the task well, providing a clear summary of the provided information.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs dedicated to each chart. You use cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Similarly', and 'On the other hand' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing could be more fluid. The referencing is generally clear, though the opening sentence is quite dense and could be broken into two for better readability. The progression of ideas is logical, moving from the membership demographics to the specific loan types and finally the historical trend, which helps the reader follow your analysis easily.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey information accurately, using terms like 'proportion', 'membership', 'demographics', and 'trend'. However, there are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'total loans accounted by' instead of 'total loans accounted for' and 'tabular grid' or 'bar chart' which could be more naturally phrased. You also use 'ratio' incorrectly in contexts where 'percentage' or 'proportion' would be more appropriate. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Expanding your range of precise reporting verbs would further enhance your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'vast number of public who are member' (should be 'a vast number of the public who are members') and 'two almost least' (should be 'the two lowest'). Articles are occasionally missing or misused, and there are minor punctuation issues. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the response. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles when referring to specific groups or data points. Your control of tense is generally consistent when describing the historical data in the bar chart.
