Student answer (Band 6.0)
The infographics compares the age group of library members and the things borrowed from different category in 2016. The bar chart breaks down the information of total number of loans from 2007 to 2016.
Evidently, almost half of the total library members were belonged to age group of 18 to 64. Additionally, children's friction and adult friction were the two categories which had same and highest proportion of total loans. Moreover, all the years after 2007 experienced increment in number of loans except 2009, 2012 and 2013.
To be specific, in 2016, 51% of total members were ranging between age of 18 to 64. Meanwhile, children were belonged to the second highest age group covering 22% of total area on pie chart. Apart from this, Young adults and adults share 15% and 12%, respectively.
Furthermore, the total number of loans in that library started with 16,000 in 2007 which increased to 19,000 in 2008 and remained constant for one year. There after, it increased till 2011 to 21,500 and again declined by 2,000 in 2013. Eventually, it gradually rose 22,000 in the last year. Specifically, in 2016, the highest number of things were borrowed from category of children's fiction and adult fiction that was 38%. While, the other category like children's non-fiction and adult non-fiction had loan of 6% and 13%, respectively. However, other categories had loan percentages less than or equal to 2%.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all three charts provided in the prompt. You successfully identified the main features, such as the dominant age group (18-64) and the trends in library loans over the decade. However, the report lacks a clear, cohesive overview paragraph. While you included an introductory sentence, a more distinct summary of the overall trends (e.g., the general upward trajectory of loans despite fluctuations) would improve the response. Additionally, some data points are slightly inaccurate, such as stating that children's and adult fiction had the 'same' proportion, whereas the chart shows them as distinct categories. Ensure that comparisons are precise to meet the requirements of a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a concluding summary of the 2016 data. You use a variety of cohesive devices such as 'Evidently,' 'To be specific,' 'Furthermore,' and 'Meanwhile' to link ideas. However, the transition between the general trends and the specific 2016 data is slightly disjointed. The paragraphing is generally effective, but the flow could be improved by grouping the 2016 data more logically rather than splitting it across two separate paragraphs. Overall, the progression of information is clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey information clearly. Phrases like 'breaks down the information,' 'remained constant,' and 'gradually rose' are appropriate for a report. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'children's friction' instead of 'children's fiction' and 'things borrowed' which is a bit informal. Using 'things' is too vague; 'items' or 'materials' would be more professional. While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the repetition of 'total' and 'category' suggests a need for more varied synonyms to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'The infographics compares' (subject-verb agreement), 'were belonged to' (incorrect passive voice), and 'other category like' (missing pluralization). These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive versus active voice. Your control of punctuation is generally good, and the meaning remains clear despite these slips.
