Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of both the pie chart and the bar graph. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with data from the charts. However, there are some inaccuracies in your interpretation of the data. For instance, you mention 'adults of 18-24' as the largest group, but the chart labels this category as 'adults (18-64)'. Additionally, your description of the loan categories is slightly confusing; you list fiction, non-fiction, and audiobooks as if they are separate from the 'adult' group, whereas they are sub-categories of it. To improve, ensure you carefully cross-reference the labels in the charts with your text to avoid misrepresenting the data.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a summary. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'whereas' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For example, the sentence 'The total loan by taken by the adult fiction...' is grammatically disjointed, which affects the clarity of the progression. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one without grammatical interruptions.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the main points, such as 'majority', 'contribution', and 'gradually increased'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and repetition. For example, you use the word 'contribution' repeatedly to describe membership percentages, which is not the most accurate term for library membership. Additionally, there are minor errors in word formation, such as 'member' instead of 'members'. To improve, try to vary your vocabulary by using synonyms and more precise terminology related to data reporting, such as 'proportion', 'accounted for', or 'fluctuated'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The pie chart... illustrates', 'children contributes') and article usage. There are also issues with sentence construction, such as 'The total loan by taken by the adult fiction', which lacks a clear verb structure. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. To improve, focus on basic grammatical accuracy, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice, which is essential for describing data.
