Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have identified the main features of the charts, such as the age distribution and loan categories. However, the report lacks a clear overview or summary of the trends. While you mention the highest and lowest points in the final paragraph, the analysis is somewhat fragmented. You should aim to group information more logically to facilitate comparisons. For instance, when discussing the table, you list percentages without fully contrasting the categories effectively. To improve, ensure you provide a clear 'overview' paragraph that highlights the most significant trends or differences across all three charts, rather than just listing data points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Transitions between sentences are often abrupt, and the logical progression of ideas could be smoother. For example, the final paragraph jumps into a description of the line graph without a clear introductory phrase to signal the shift in focus. Using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'in contrast', 'furthermore') would help connect your ideas more effectively and improve the overall flow of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic phrasing, such as 'has a highest members' and 'shares a exact percentage'. There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'number of different fictions' and 'more than double percentage'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary to describe trends and data, such as 'account for', 'constitute', 'a significant proportion', or 'fluctuated marginally'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'The library has a highest members of adults' (article and pluralization error) and 'Adult audio books and young adults shares a exact percentage' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and spacing. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the number of error-free sentences will significantly improve your score in this criterion.
