Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. Because the response is only 85 words, the information is severely underdeveloped. While you attempt to identify some trends, such as the increase in loans by 2016, the summary is incomplete and lacks a clear overview of the main features. You have not adequately compared the categories or provided a comprehensive summary of the data presented in the charts. To improve, you must ensure you cover all parts of the prompt and provide a more detailed analysis of the data points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response lacks logical organization and progression. There is no clear paragraph structure, and the ideas are presented in a fragmented manner. The use of cohesive devices is minimal and often inaccurate, such as the phrase 'as a result' which does not logically connect the preceding information. The lack of transition words makes it difficult for the reader to follow the development of your argument. To improve, you should organize your report into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs that group related data points together using appropriate linking words.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to describe the data precisely. Phrases like 'people get loan' and 'little changes occurs' are grammatically incorrect and lack the precision required for an academic report. You rely on basic vocabulary that does not allow for a sophisticated description of the trends shown in the charts. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuate', 'significant increase', 'proportion', and 'category'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid repetition and improve the quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that impede communication. Examples include 'The charts gives' (subject-verb agreement), 'the people get loan was' (incorrect tense and structure), and 'there little changes occurs' (missing verb/article). The sentence structures are simple and often lack proper punctuation, making the text difficult to read. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles. Practicing the use of complex sentences, such as using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions, will also help you move toward a higher band score.
