Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the main features of the charts and provided relevant comparisons. You covered the age distribution, loan categories, and the trend over time. However, the report lacks a clear overview or summary paragraph that synthesizes the data. Some data points are presented as a list rather than a cohesive analysis, such as the breakdown of the pie chart. To improve, ensure you group information logically and highlight the most significant trends rather than listing every individual figure, which can make the response feel like a data dump.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. For example, you frequently start sentences with 'The pie chart' or 'The table'. There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas between sentences and paragraphs. The progression of information is generally logical, but the internal flow within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of transition signals to show relationships between the data sets.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information, though it is often repetitive. Phrases like 'recorded with' and 'provides information of' are used multiple times. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'substantially arise' instead of 'showed a substantial increase' or 'rose significantly'. While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band score. Focusing on synonyms and more academic collocations would enhance your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading, such as 'are highest majority people' (should be 'make up the largest proportion') and 'Every year total number of loans are substantially arise'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and parentheses. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and correct verb tense usage.
