Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have successfully identified the main trends and features of the data provided. You included an overview and supported your points with specific figures from the charts. However, there are some inaccuracies in your interpretation; for instance, you refer to 'loan' when describing expenditure on books, which is a misuse of terminology. Additionally, the description of the age groups could be more precise, as you mention 'children' and 'young adults' but the data labels are specific. To improve, ensure you clearly distinguish between the different types of data (expenditure vs. loan numbers) and use more precise terminology to describe the categories shown in the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'To add to this' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and some mechanical use of these connectors. The referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the discussion of age groups and the discussion of book expenditure is somewhat abrupt. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between different data sets would help elevate your score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'illustrates', 'frequently', and 'declining'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors that impact precision. For example, using 'loan' to refer to 'expenditure' or 'spending' is incorrect in this context. You also have some spelling errors, such as 'memebers' and 'spended' (which should be 'spent'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary related to data description and ensure you are using the correct terminology for the specific categories presented in the charts.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'the amount required to spent' (should be 'spend'), 'number of adults who went library' (should be 'went to the library'), and 'they share 22 % of their number in total'. These errors do not generally impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, the correct use of prepositions, and the formation of passive voice structures when describing data.
