The highest proportion goes to adults between 18-64 years old with 51% members while the other 3 categories share only 49% from the whole proportion with 12% for adults who are 65 years old and over , 22% for children and finally 15% for young adults between 13and 17 years old .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all three charts effectively, identifying key trends and making relevant comparisons. You successfully highlighted the dominant age group (18-64) and the peak in library loans in 2016. However, the analysis could be improved by grouping the data more logically; for instance, the description of the table and the bar chart is somewhat fragmented across the paragraphs. While you mention the 'fluctuation' in the bar chart, providing more specific data points for the intermediate years (like 2013) would strengthen the report. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets the requirements of the task by summarizing the main features accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'However', and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the paragraphing could be more refined. For example, the overview paragraph contains a mix of summary and specific data, which slightly disrupts the flow. To reach a higher band, ensure that the overview remains a high-level summary of trends, while specific data points are reserved for the body paragraphs. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentence structures are slightly repetitive.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'fluctuation', and 'categories' correctly. There are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'lown' instead of 'loan' and 'categorie' instead of 'categories'. Additionally, some phrasing is slightly unnatural, such as 'devised in four defined categories'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and ensure consistent spelling. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the sophistication and flexibility required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, particularly with punctuation (e.g., unnecessary spaces before commas) and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the big percentage goes to'). Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'the proportion of the library members by age that is devised in four defined categories'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic punctuation and ensuring consistent verb tenses when describing past data would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
