The charts illustrate information about the age distribution of library members, the proportion of loans by book category, and the total number of loans made at a public library in Little Chalfont.

Overall, adults aged 18–64 constituted the largest proportion of library members, while fiction books accounted for the greatest share of loans. In addition, the total number of loans generally increased over the period shown, reaching its highest point in 2016.

While the children and adults of the age between 18 to 64 were in 22% and 51% proportion, respectively, they accounted for 38% loan for Children's fiction and Adult fiction whereas adult non-fiction loan was 13%. Young adults between 13 to 17 years of age comprised of 15% of library members, however, they accounted only 2% of the loan. Adults of 65 year and over were 12% in proportion. Lowest number of loans were taken by Children's non-fiction, Children's DVDs, and Adult audio books with the percentage of 6%, 1%, and 2%, respectively.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the charts and provided a clear overview. You included data for all three charts, which is excellent. However, the analysis in the third paragraph is slightly confusing; you attempt to link age groups to specific loan categories, but the data presentation is somewhat cluttered and lacks clear comparative language. To reach a higher band, ensure that comparisons are more direct and that you clearly distinguish between the different datasets provided in the prompt. You have covered the key trends well, particularly the rise in total loans over time.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'while', 'in addition', and 'however' to link ideas. However, the transition between the age distribution and the loan categories in the third paragraph is a bit abrupt, making the flow feel slightly mechanical. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as when you mention 'they accounted for 38% loan', which requires the reader to work harder to identify the specific groups being compared. Improving the variety of linking phrases would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'constituted', 'proportion', 'comprised', and 'gradually increased'. There are some minor inaccuracies, such as 'accounted only 2% of the loan' (should be 'accounted for') and 'lowest number of loans were taken by' (which is slightly awkward phrasing). While you successfully use topic-specific vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms for 'increase' or 'decrease' and ensure your collocations are natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'adults of the age between 18 to 64' (should be 'adults aged between 18 and 64') and 'comprised of 15%' (comprise does not take 'of'). You also have issues with article usage and prepositional phrases, such as 'in 22% and 51% proportion'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will help improve your accuracy.
