Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have successfully identified the main features of all three charts. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with data from the visuals. However, there are some inaccuracies in your interpretation of the data. For example, you state '51 adults' and '22 members' for the pie chart, but these figures represent percentages, not raw numbers. Additionally, the table data is presented as percentages, yet you refer to them as 'category of loans' without clarifying the unit. To reach a higher band, ensure you distinguish between percentages and raw numbers and provide more precise comparisons between the categories rather than listing them sequentially.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is logically organized, with each paragraph focusing on a specific chart. You use some cohesive devices such as 'By contrast', 'Overall', and 'From the pie chart', which help the reader follow the progression of your ideas. However, the transition between sentences can sometimes feel mechanical, and the paragraphing is slightly unbalanced. The final paragraph is quite dense and could benefit from being split or structured more clearly to highlight the trends in the bar graph. Overall, the information is presented in a coherent manner, but the flow could be improved with more varied linking phrases.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'trajectory', 'plummeted', and 'marginally'. However, there are some word choice errors and awkward phrasings, such as 'table chart' (it is either a table or a chart) and 'share the rest of the proportion by 15 and 12'. The use of 'showed a similar percentage' is acceptable, but more precise vocabulary regarding data trends would enhance the quality of your writing. You have enough vocabulary to communicate clearly, but the range is not yet flexible or sophisticated enough for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use some complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage (e.g., 'the bar chart provide', 'around at 18000', 'before considerably rose'). There are also issues with tense consistency when describing past data. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring consistent verb tenses when describing historical data will help improve your accuracy.
