The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The charts illustrate the public library in Little Chalfont, detailing age of members, loan categories for 2016, and overall borrowing trends from 2007 to 2016.

Overall, adults aged 18–64 constituted the largest share of library members, while fiction (both children’s and adult’s) dominated total loans in 2016. Additionally, total borrowings experienced an upward trend over the ten-year period despite minor fluctuations.

In 2016, adults aged 18–64 accounted for just over half of all library members at 51%. Children formed the second largest group at 22%, followed by young adults (aged 13–17) at 15% and seniors aged 65 and over at 12%.

Regarding borrowing habits that same year, children’s fiction and adult fiction were by far the most popular categories, each representing 38% of total loans. Adult non-fiction followed at 13%, while children’s non-fiction dropped 6%. The remaining categories—young adult audiobooks, adult audiobooks, and children’s DVDs—accounted for negligible shares ranging from 1% to 2%.

Looking at annual borrowing trends between 2007 and 2016, overall loan volume began at roughly 15,500 in 2007. Borrowing grew steadily to hit approximately 20,500 in 2010, after which it fluctuated slightly before reaching a peak of around 21,500 loans by 2016
