Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all three charts provided, identifying key trends and data points. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For instance, while you mention the loan trends in the bar chart, you do not provide specific figures for the start and end points, which would strengthen the report. Similarly, in the table, you list percentages but fail to group them effectively to highlight the most significant differences. The overview is missing; a successful Task 1 response must include a clear summary statement that highlights the main trends or differences across the data sets. To improve, ensure you provide a clear overview paragraph after the introduction.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organised into three paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate. Phrases like 'To continue with loan' and 'In last Pie chart form' are unnatural and do not effectively link ideas. The progression of information is somewhat disjointed, as the transition between the bar chart, table, and pie chart lacks smooth logical connectors. Improving the variety of linking words (e.g., 'Furthermore', 'In contrast', 'Regarding the...') would help the flow of the essay significantly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'Three different data... is given' and 'down fall occur'. You rely on basic descriptors like 'high' and 'rise', which limits the sophistication of the report. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'accounted for', or 'constituted'. Additionally, ensure you use correct word forms, such as 'a downfall occurred' instead of 'down fall occur'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('loan amount is gradually increase'), missing articles ('In Bar chart', 'In last Pie chart'), and awkward sentence structures ('member group divided in four parts'). While you attempt to use some complex structures, they are often marred by errors. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs are correctly conjugated and that articles are used appropriately before nouns. Proofreading for these recurring errors would help improve the overall accuracy of your writing.
