Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have successfully addressed all parts of the task by summarizing the three charts provided. You identified the main features, such as the age distribution of members, the popularity of loan categories, and the overall trend in loan numbers over the decade. The data is accurately reported, and you made relevant comparisons, such as noting that adult and children's fiction were equally popular at 38%. The overview is clear and provides a good summary of the key trends. To reach a higher band, ensure that you consistently highlight the most significant differences or trends rather than listing data points, though your current approach is already quite effective.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, a concise overview, and separate body paragraphs for each chart. The progression of ideas is smooth, and you use cohesive devices effectively, such as 'As per the pie chart', 'With regard to', and 'This was followed by'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct data sets, which helps the reader follow your analysis easily. The use of referencing is clear, and the flow between sentences is natural. There is nothing that attracts attention as being mechanical or repetitive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary appropriate for a data-reporting task, using terms like 'accounted for', 'proportion', 'constituting', and 'fluctuations'. The language is precise and fits the context well. While the vocabulary is accurate and sufficient, it is mostly standard. To achieve a higher band, you could incorporate more sophisticated collocations or varied synonyms for 'increase' and 'decrease' to show greater flexibility. However, the current range is more than adequate for the task and there are no errors in word choice that impede communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
Your writing displays a good mix of simple and complex sentence structures. You use complex sentences effectively, such as 'The total number of loans stood at just over 15,000 in 2007, after which it witnessed multiple fluctuations...'. The grammar is generally accurate, with only minor issues, such as 'considerably lesser loaned', which should be 'loaned considerably less' or 'a considerably smaller number of loans'. These are minor slips that do not impede understanding. The majority of your sentences are error-free, and your control over punctuation is solid.
