The charts and table illustrate data regarding the membership demographics and book loan patterns at Little Chalfont Library. Overall, the library experienced a general upward trend in total loans over the ten-year period. In terms of user demographics and preferences in 2016, adults formed the largest share of library members, while fiction books—both for children and adults—were by far the most frequently borrowed items.Profile of Members and Borrowing Preferences (2016)In 2016, adults aged 18 to 64 constituted the absolute majority of library users, accounting for 51% of total membership. Children made up nearly a quarter of the members at 22%, followed closely by young adults aged 13–17 at 15%. Senior citizens (65 and over) represented the smallest demographic segment at just 12%.Regarding lending selections that same year, fiction was overwhelmingly dominant. Children’s fiction and adult fiction tied as the most popular loan categories, each comprising 38% of total distributions. Adult non-fiction followed at a distant 13%. The remaining components—children's non-fiction (6%), young adult books (2%), adult audiobooks (2%), and children's DVDs (1%)—accounted for marginal fractions of the library's total loans.Ten-Year Lending Trends (2007–2016)Looking at long-term activity, the total number of items borrowed increased visibly over time. In 2007, borrowing figures started at just over 15,000 loans. Loans surged significantly to roughly 19,000 in 2008 and climbed consistently until peaking at just over 20,000 in 2011. Following minor, brief dips down to around 19,500 in 2013, borrowing activity rebounded to complete its highest volume in 2016, finishing just short of the 22,000 loan mark.
