The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The pie chart, bar chart and table provide information about Little Chalfont's public library. The pie chart illustrates the age of library members in 2016, while the table divides total loans by category for 2016. The bar chart provides information on the total number of loans between 2007 and 2016.

Overall, it is evident that majority of the library members were adults aged between 18-64, with children's fiction and adults fiction accounting for the same percentage of loans. The total number of loans fluctuated throughout the 10 years.

In 2016, more than half (51%) of the library members were adults 18-64, while the adults 65 and over had the lowest number of membership (12%). The category of children's and adult fiction each had 38% of total loans, compared to just 1%, the lowest for children's DVDs.

Between [redacted phone], the highest number of total loans were in the year 2016 around 22,000, with 2007 having the least, around 15,500. During the two years the number of loans remained unsteady, fluctuating year by year.
