The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Given are three charts depicting data regarding a public library in a town called Little Chalfont. The pie chart provides a breakdown of library members in 2016.

Overall glance at the chart reveals that 51% of the members were adults having age between 18-64, 22 % were children and 12 % were adults having age between 18 to 64 and remaining 15% captured by young adults having age between 13 to 17.

Adult fiction and children's fiction dominated the total loans in 2016, representing identical top shares of 38% each. Non-fiction items are borrowed less frequently, with adult non-fiction making up 13% and children's non-fiction taking 6%. On the other hand, Children's DVDs and Adult audio books captured 1% and 2% of the loans respectively.

Looking at the bar graph, which represent the annual loan amount volume, the figures continuously rose consistently from approximately 15000 items in 2007 to just over 20000 by 2011. The amount in 2012 , apparently looks almost same or a bit less than the amount captured in 2011. Though, in 2013 the loan amount got less and it is almost less than 20,000. After that, total volume of loan annually resumed a steady growth reaching a peak of roughly 22,500 by 2016.
