Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all three visual elements, but the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you identify the main features, such as the age distribution and the loan trends, the comparisons are often vague. For instance, stating that 'the rest of the loan percentages were equal or lower than 13' is not a precise way to report data. You successfully highlight the peak age group and the general upward trend in loans, but the report lacks a clear 'overview' paragraph that synthesises the most significant trends across the three charts. To improve, ensure you group data more logically and provide more specific comparisons between categories rather than just listing figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For example, the transition between the pie chart and the table is abrupt. While you use linking words like 'furthermore' and 'in addition', the flow between sentences could be smoother. The referencing is generally clear, but the connection between the different data sets (the age chart vs. the loan trends) is not fully integrated, making the essay feel like a series of separate descriptions rather than a cohesive summary.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contribution', 'substantial', and 'category'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'total loans by category took in years' (should be 'recorded in the years') and 'maximum of the members' (should be 'the majority of members'). The vocabulary is functional but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. To reach a higher score, try to use more sophisticated synonyms for 'increased' or 'ranged from' and ensure that your collocations are natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'The below table... demonstrates' (should be 'The table below... demonstrates') and 'the the age' (a repetition error). Additionally, there are issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'information of total loans' (should be 'information on the total loans'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic errors and ensuring consistent verb tense usage when describing past data.
