Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the charts, such as the age demographics and the trends in loan numbers. However, the response lacks precision in reporting data. For instance, you mention 'a significant amount of money was invested', but the charts refer to the number of loans, not financial investment. Furthermore, the description of the loan trends is somewhat vague; you mention '200000' and '15000', but these figures do not clearly align with the provided data points. To improve, ensure you accurately interpret the labels on the axes and provide specific data points to support your comparisons rather than generalising.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Overall', 'In contrast', and 'Further', which assist in linking ideas. However, the logical progression is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'Even the table compares...', which is not a standard way to introduce information. The transition between the demographic data and the loan trends could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that flows logically from the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision required for a higher band. Phrases like 'more fond of visiting' and 'loan taking' are slightly unnatural in an academic context. There are also some errors in word choice, such as 'accounted for 51% of total population of library', where 'the' is missing, and 'great fluctuations' which is not fully supported by the data provided. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure you are using the correct terminology for data reporting, such as 'proportion', 'accounted for', or 'fluctuated'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'illustrate age of library members' (missing article), 'adults under the age of 18-64 were accounted for' (incorrect passive voice usage), and 'in term of loan' (should be 'in terms of'). While your meaning is generally understandable, these recurring errors in articles, prepositions, and verb forms prevent the response from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage to improve your accuracy.
