IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The chart provides a data about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont

Overall, there are three kind of charts which give the information about library in little Chalfont such as first pie chart indicate about "Age of library members", while second table chart demonstrate regard "Total loans by category", however, the third last bar chart represent about "Total number of loans".

To begin with, the pie chart illustrates the proportion of ages of library members in 2016. While there were four categories. First category age of "Adults 18-64" was standing highest around 51%members, second category of "Adults 65 and over" was standing lowest almost 22%. While third category of "Young adult 13-17" was representing 15%. However, fourth group of "Children" was making up 22% members.

Secondly, the table chart indicates the proportion of "Total loans by category in 2016", while there were seven groups. The biggest group of "Children's fiction" and "Adults fiction" which were accounting for each 38% total loans. In addition, "Young adults" and "Adult audio books" were both around 2%. Although, "Adults non-fiction" was stood up 13% and "Children's non-fiction" was around 6%. However, the smallest category of "Children's DVDs" was representing 1% of all loans.

In the third place, the bar chart given information about "Total number of loans between 2007 from 2016". At the begging of 2007, it was reaching 15,000. After over the time period it was increasing gradually, reaching 20000 in 2011. From 2012 to 2015, the figure fluctuated slightly throughout the period. However, in 2016 all numbers of loans were peaking at 22000.
