IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The graphs illustrate the data on social library which is known as Little Chalfont.

Overall, the trend of adults as part of the library is higher than other age groups. The highest loans in various categories were seen among children and adults. The number of loans had increased over the years.

The adults between 18 and 64 are engaged 51% more with the library than children, young adults from 13 to 17, and adults 65 and over, with percentages of 22%, 15%, and 12%, respectively.

The number of loans was seen lowest in 2007 with just over 15,000 which later increased and fluctuated sightly from 2008 to 2015 but remained little below and above to 20,000. The highest loans year was 2016 of near 22,000. In 2016, Children and Adult fiction had 38% of total loan while Children and Adult non-fiction had 6% and 13% involvement overall, respectively. Whilst, the lowest part is Children's DVD with just 1% and Adult audio books with 2% in total loans.
