Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the charts, but the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you identify the leading category (Fiction) and the age group trends, the comparison between the bar chart data and the pie chart is weak. You mention the bar chart trends inconsistently, but you fail to provide specific data points or clear comparisons between the years. To improve, ensure you select key data points (e.g., the peak in 2011 or the specific percentage for the largest age group) to support your summary. The overview is present but lacks the necessary detail to fully convey the trends shown in the visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'The loans in divided in different category'. The progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed, particularly when moving between the pie chart and the bar chart. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'in contrast', 'furthermore') to connect sentences and ideas more naturally, rather than relying on simple transitions or repetitive sentence structures.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic phrasing like 'loan amount' and 'led with the numbers'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'lesser to be visited' and 'moving in-consistently'. To improve, try to use more academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'accounted for', or 'predominant'. Expanding your range of synonyms and ensuring correct word forms will help you move beyond a basic level of expression.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'some couple of years', 'loans in divided in different category', and 'started to increased'. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic tense consistency and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
