Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by addressing the pie chart, table, and bar chart. You have successfully identified the main features, such as the age distribution and the loan trends. However, the report lacks a strong overview that synthesizes the data. While you mention the highest and lowest points in the bar chart, a more effective overview would highlight the general upward trend in library loans over the decade and the dominance of adult fiction in the loan categories. Additionally, some comparisons are missing; for instance, you list the percentages for children and adults but do not explicitly compare them to highlight the library's primary demographic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific chart. The use of cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Secondly', and 'Thirdly' provides a clear structure, although these transitions are somewhat mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the referencing within the paragraphs could be improved. For example, in the third paragraph, the list of figures for different years is a bit repetitive and lacks smooth flow. Using more varied linking phrases or grouping years with similar trends would enhance the coherence of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have used an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'population', 'categories', and 'respectively'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, using 'credits' to refer to library loans is incorrect; 'loans' or 'borrowings' would be more appropriate. Similarly, 'noted as' and 'in corresponding order' are used slightly awkwardly. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'accounted for', or 'predominant'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors. For instance, 'The charts below are pie chart and bar chart' should be 'The charts below consist of a pie chart and a bar chart'. There are also issues with article usage ('the elderly population who are 65 or above age group') and tense consistency. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve your accuracy.
