Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have successfully identified the main features of the charts and provided relevant comparisons. You covered all three visual elements: the age distribution, the loan categories, and the trend over time. However, the report lacks precision in some areas. For example, you mention 'adults (18-64) has share dominant part' but do not explicitly contrast this with the other age groups effectively. Additionally, the data reporting is sometimes slightly inaccurate, such as stating 'children's fiction and adult fiction marked the biggest share of it by figure 38%', when the table shows these are separate categories. To improve, ensure that data points are clearly linked to their specific categories and avoid over-generalizing.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'Additionally', and 'Whereas'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as starting sentences with 'While,' or 'Begin with age...'. The flow between sentences could be smoother; for instance, the transition between the age data and the loan categories within the third paragraph is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey the information, using terms like 'proportion', 'accounted for', and 'upward trend'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'least number of interest' instead of 'least interest' and 'experienced slight declined' instead of 'experienced a slight decline'. Some phrasing is also repetitive. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your word forms (nouns vs. verbs) are used correctly in context. Expanding your range of descriptive verbs for trends would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include missing articles (e.g., 'in town', 'by year 2007'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'total number of loans demonstrates upward trend despite fluctuate'), and punctuation errors. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'adults (18-64) has share'. These errors do not typically impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for articles and verb endings will help improve your accuracy.
