Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have successfully identified the main features of the charts, including the age group distribution and the loan trends over time. However, the response contains some inaccuracies in data interpretation. For example, you state that 'maximum loan occupied for children's fiction and adult fiction is 38% for each', whereas the chart shows 38% for children's fiction and 38% for adult fiction, but these are separate categories. Additionally, you refer to 'loan's prices', which is a misinterpretation of the data, as the chart tracks the number of loans, not the cost. While you cover the requirements, the analysis is slightly hampered by these misinterpretations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Overall', 'In contrast', and 'Conversaly' (spelled incorrectly). However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the transition between the age groups and the loan numbers feels abrupt. The logical progression is generally maintained, but the use of cohesive devices could be more sophisticated and accurate to improve the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'fluctuated', and 'represented'. However, there are several instances of word choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'loan's prices' instead of 'number of loans' and 'soar' used as a past tense verb incorrectly. Spelling errors like 'mumbers', 'totall', 'chlidren's', and 'Conversaly' also occur. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points, the errors in word choice and spelling prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'The given pie chart illustrate' (subject-verb agreement), 'adults with the 18-64 ages groups' (incorrect pluralisation), and 'minimum 16000 loan was assigned' (missing article). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of apostrophes in 'loan's' and 'childrens'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and affect the clarity of your writing.
