Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all three charts and identifies key features, such as the age distribution of members and the trends in loan numbers. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical, listing data points rather than synthesising them effectively. For example, while you mention the 2007-2016 loan trends, the description of the fluctuations is slightly disjointed. To reach a higher band, ensure you group information more logically and provide a more cohesive overview that highlights the most significant trends or contrasts rather than just listing percentages. The summary is present but could be more analytical.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Although' to link ideas. However, some of these transitions are used repetitively or in ways that do not always create a natural flow. For instance, starting multiple sentences with 'Moreover' makes the writing feel mechanical. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as 'data kept on fluctuate', which lacks a clear subject. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'graphical representations', 'tabular representation', and 'fluctuate'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'number kept on balloned' and 'old age people'. Some phrasing is also slightly unnatural, such as 'their participating as members'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. Focusing on more accurate collocations and avoiding informal phrasing will help improve this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the pie chart differentiate', 'half of member'), subject-verb agreement ('data kept on fluctuate'), and tense consistency. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several sentences starting with lowercase letters. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules, such as pluralisation and article usage, and ensure consistent verb tenses when describing past data.
