Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the response. While you have identified some main features, the analysis is superficial. You mention the age groups and loan categories, but the data is not presented with sufficient detail or precision. For instance, you state 'the loan conceded for children fiction, and adult fiction was same in numbers of 38%', but you do not clearly explain the context of the line graph versus the pie chart. The response lacks a clear overview that synthesizes the information effectively, and the under-length nature prevents a comprehensive summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into short paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the pie chart data and the line graph data is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used sparingly and sometimes inaccurately, such as 'In contrast with adults 65 and above were less', which is grammatically incomplete and confusing. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the connection between the figures and the categories being described. More varied linking words are needed to improve the flow of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'huge numbers', 'quite low', and 'same in numbers'. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary (e.g., 'proportion', 'membership', 'loans'), but the phrasing is often unnatural or imprecise, such as 'loan conceded for children fiction'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise collocations and a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends and proportions, such as 'account for', 'constitute', or 'a significant majority'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent, such as 'The pie chart illustrate' (should be 'illustrates') and 'The age of library members were' (should be 'was'). There are also issues with sentence structure, such as 'In contrast with adults 65 and above were less', which lacks a proper subject and verb structure. While some simple sentences are clear, the lack of complex structures and the presence of persistent errors in basic grammar hinder the overall quality of the writing.
