Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all three charts, providing a summary of the main features and some comparisons. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For instance, the description of the bar chart trends is imprecise (e.g., 'more and less 16,000'). While the main features are identified, the comparisons between categories in the table are not fully developed, and the data interpretation is occasionally inaccurate, such as the confusion between percentages and raw numbers in the final paragraph. To improve, ensure that data points are cited accurately and that comparisons are more analytical rather than just listing figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'In next 7 years' and 'There are two categories how's percentage is' disrupt the flow of information. The transition between the different charts is abrupt, and the logical progression within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus with smooth transitions between sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. There is a reliance on basic terms, and some word choices are inappropriate, such as using 'debit amount' to refer to library loans. Additionally, there are errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'taken loan' instead of 'borrowed' or 'had loans'. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology related to data description (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'accounted for') and avoid repeating the same structures.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentences, but grammatical errors are frequent and occasionally impede clarity. Issues include missing articles ('in year of 2016'), incorrect verb tenses ('loan cross the line'), and awkward sentence construction ('There is 51% adult members'). Subject-verb agreement is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence structure, article usage, and ensuring subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
