The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The three charts provide information about library usage in Little Chalfont, a town, in 2016. The pie chart shows the age groups of library members, the table illustrates the types of materials borrowed, and the bar chart shows the total numbber of loans between 2007 and 2016.

Overall, the maajority of library members were adults aged 18-64. Children’s fiction was the most borrowed material in 2016, and the total number of loans increased gradually over the 10-year period.

According to the pie chart, adults aged 18-64 made up 51% of library members, which was the largest group. Adults aged 65 and over accounted for 23%, while children under 18 reppresented 17%. Young adults aged 18-25 were the smallest group at just 9%.

The table shows that children’s fictiion was borrowed the most at 28%, followed by adult non-fiction at 15%. Children’s DVDs and adult audio books were the least popular, each at only 2%.
