IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The given charts and tables depicts the data of total number of loans , different types of loans and age of library members of Little Chalfont's public library over the period of 10 years.
Overall, it is clear that adults holds the majority of library memberships, library showed a steady growth in giving the total number of loans ,making Children's friction and Adults friction as most loaned books in 2016.
From the pie chart, Adults dominated as library members with 51% , followed by children with 22%. whereas, young adults around the age of 13-17 and adults of age group 65 and above with 12% and 15%, respectively. According to the table library books are categories into 7 types , topped by Children friction and Adult friction books with 38% both, followed by Adult non friction and Children non friction with 13% and 6%, respectively .The least in this least is Adult audio books ,Young adults with 2% each and Children's DVDs with 1%.
The Graph showed a steady growth of total number of loans in library, with 15000 books in 2007 and in 2011 at 21000. After little fluctuation ended at 22000 being highest.
