IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The pie chart and bar graphs illustrates about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Overall, The library members are mostly adults whose ages are 18-64, while loans of childrens ficton and adults fiction are same.
By looking at pie chart, the library members were 22 children, young adults with age of 13-17 of number 15, while adults of age 18-64 are high in numbers i.e. 51 and last category adults with age of 65 and over are 12 in numbers. The table shows loans by category in 2016 with 38% with child fiction and 38% of adults fiction. Moreover childrens non-fictions accounted for 6% whereas adults non-fictions accounted with 13%. Childrens DVDs with only 1%, young adults and adults audio books accounted for 2% separately.
However, bar graph illustrates total number of loans from [redacted phone]. In 2007 loan amount was around 16000, which rise in 2008 to 19000. Similarly in 2009 it remain constant with 19000, bit increase in 2010 to 21000. Then loan increase again slightly in 2011 to 21500, following in 2012 it came to 21000, bit lowers in 2013 to 19000 then moving up slowly after 2013 and in 2016 it came to 22000.
