IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given pie chart, table and bar graph provide the information of a public library of a small town called as Little Chalfont.
Overall, it is quite evident that the highest agegroup was between 18-64years and in 2016 most lent books were children's fiction.
On a closer observation, it is witnesed that more than half of the people visiting library in 2016 were in the age group of 18-64, whereas remaining half were divided in the group ogf children , young adults and adults over 65 years of age. Also, the majorityof books lent by people were children's fiction and adult fiction which were almost 40%.
Only, 1% children's DVD's were borrowed. The adults non-fiction were at 13%. However, only 2% borrowers took adult audio books and young adult books. Alternatively, total number of loans were a little above 15000 in 2007 which increased gradually to 18000 books. In 2010 it increased over 20000 and remained above 20000 loans for the whole period except for the year 2013.
