Student answer (Band 6.0)
The pie chart illustrates the number of members who visit library of several age groups, while the table shows the proportion of total loans by seven different categories, n the year of 2016. The bar chart compares the cummulative quantity of loans from 2007 to 2016.
Overall, it is apparent that adults between 18-64 aged were the highest visitors category, meanwhile Children's fiction and Adult fiction remained the dominant loan category in the year of 2016. In contrast, Adults age above 65 recorded the lowest figure, while Adult audio books, Young adults, and Children's DVD's represented the minimum share. Notably, figures of loans experienced a minimal increase till the end of the period.
Looking at the Pie chart and Table, Adults age between 18-64 accounted for 51 points and Children constituted 22 points in 2016. Furthermore, the lowest number recorded 12 points by adults age 65 or above and 15 points by Young adults 13-17. Moreover, the peak percentage represented 38% by both Children's fiction and Adult fiction. Children's non fiction and Adult non-fiction noted between 6% to 13%, whereas all other recorded 2% except Children's DVD's which constituted minimal 1% in 2016.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The student successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by summarizing the main features of the pie chart, table, and bar chart, and provides relevant comparisons across the data sets. In the first paragraph, the writer introduces the sources accurately, although there is a minor typo with "n the year of 2016". The overview paragraph captures the key trends effectively, pointing out the dominant visitors and loan categories, as well as the overall upward trajectory of the bar chart over the decade. Specific details are integrated into the body paragraphs, such as percentages for book categories and visitor distributions, although using the term "points" instead of percentages or numbers is slightly awkward. Overall, the task is well covered with clear and relevant information.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview paragraph, and distinct body paragraphs addressing specific charts. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different graphical features. Cohesive devices are employed to guide the reader through the data, such as "Overall, it is apparent", "In contrast", "Looking at the Pie chart and Table", and "Regarding the Bar chart". However, referencing and cohesion occasionally feel a bit mechanical or repetitive in structure. For instance, the transition "After this, it saw a continous growth" is somewhat clunky. Nevertheless, there is a clear logical progression throughout, warranting a solid band 6.5 or 7.0 for this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate and generally appropriate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully utilizing terms such as "proportion", "dominant", "minimum share", and "trajectory". There are attempts at less common lexical items, though some word choices and collocations are slightly imprecise, such as referring to data values as "points" instead of percentages or absolute numbers. Additionally, there are a few typographical and spelling errors, such as "cummulative", "continous", and "approxiamtely". However, these lexical slips do not impede communication, and the vocabulary used is sufficient to convey the main trends and comparisons clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer employs a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, demonstrating the ability to use subordinate clauses and comparative forms, such as "The pie chart illustrates... while the table shows..." and "By 2011, it had risen to approximately to 21,000 points." There are several grammatical errors and awkward phrasings throughout the text, including "adults between 18-64 aged" instead of "aged between 18 and 64", and the double preposition "to approximately to". Punctuation is generally acceptable, but minor structural slips persist. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear, and communication is not impeded.
