IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given charts delineate the proportion of public library user and a total loans in different category in a town called Little Chalfont.
Overall, it can be seen that the age group of adults between age 18 to 64 were recorded the highest peoportion, while the age group of about 65 experienced fewer users. Also, the largest ratio of loans accounted by children's and Adult fiction.
To commence with, age between 18 to 64 ( adults ) accounted for 51%, while the children stood at 22%. In addition, Young adults ( 13 - 17) obtained 15% compared with above 65 age group people at 12%.
Turning to the loans, the highest category were recorded by children's and Adult fiction at 38%, Children's DVD's showed lowest percentage at 1%. Thereafter, 2% recorded by Adult audio books and Young adults compare to Children's and Adults non-fiction at 6% and 13% respectively.
