The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The pie chart, bar chart and table provide information about the age of users of Little Chalfont Library along with the whole number of loans between 2007 and 2016 and the percentages of different types of loans.
Overall, most of the members are adults. While children's DVDs have the lowest share of loans, children's and adult's fiction are most popular.Over the period the total number of loans fluctuated but it generally showed an upward trend.
Approximately half of this public library members are adults from the age of 18 to 64, the lowest proportion of them are adults over 65 years old with a percentage of 12%. Whereas young adults, aged between 13 and 17, and children represent respectively 15% and 22% of the total members.
Children's fiction and adult fiction are accounted for an equal big share of loans with 38%, compared to only 1% for children's DVDs and 2% for each adult audio books and young adults.the total amount of loans increased gradually from just above 15000 loans in 2007 to about 21000 loans in 2011 before dropping slightly to just under 20 000 in 2013. Thereafter the quantity of loans rose slightly reaching approximately 22000 in the end of the period.
