The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The charts provide information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont, where pie chart shows proportion of age of library members, table provides total loans by category, and bar chart illustrates total number of loans from 2007 to 2016.

Overall, in 2016 adults of age 18 to 64 accounted for 51% of all library members, whereas adults of age 65 and over are the lowest. Children's fiction and adult fiction shared the most loans in contrast to other categories. The total number of loans in 2016 was the highest.

In 2016, 18 to 64 years adults showed greater interest with proportion 51%, followed by children at 22%. Young adults of age 13 to 17 and adults of age 65 and above share's were the lowest at 15% and 12% respectively.

Children's fiction and adult fiction were the top categories with most loans in 2016, both at 38%. This is followed by adult non-fiction at 13% and children's non-fiction at 6%. Total loans in categories such as young adults, adult audio books and children's DVDs were the lowest at 2%, 2% and 1% respectively.
