IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The charts below give information about a public library in a town called Little Chalfont.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The chart provided the information about a Public Library in a town called Little Chalfont, including the distribution of its members.

Overall, Adults in between 18-64 aged accounted the largest proportion of the members , while the Adults of age group of 65 and over are least in the proportion.

In terms of membership , the Adult of age 18-64 have occupied half of the library with 51% of users. Adults of age group 65 and over have made up the smallest proportion of the library with 12%. Children, represent the second largest group of all with 22%. Young adults of aged 13-17 comprised 15% of the users.

Children's fiction and Adults Fiction are equally popular, accounting the proportion of 38%of all the loans. Adults non-fiction ranked third in the list with 13%Children's non-fiction represent of 6%. The remaining category contributes only small part of the loan, in which young adults and Adults audio books are equal of 2% and children's DVDs represent 1%.

The Bar chart shows the total number of loan rose approximately 16,000 in 2007 and getting rise in 2008 around 19,000 and holding this figure in 2009 also. In 2010 the number rised to 20,000 and touching peak in 2011 around 21,000. This number get decreased in 2013 around 19,500. But in 2016 the loan rose up to 21,500.
